Holiday Sales -- Is Your Business Missing Out?

Everywhere you turn, there are signs that the holiday selling season is in full swing.  Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday... 
Many B2C small business owners take advantage of the season – are you one of them? 
They started planning weeks, if not months ago, clarifying objectives, identifying target markets and creating holiday offers and messaging.
 Market planning helps make the most of this season, but if you’re a new business or have been too swamped to plan, it’s not too late!

Depending on the type of product/service your business offers, you can:
  • Provide holiday spirit -- Is there something you can do to make the shopping experience more pleasant? Like having chairs available for tired spouses, package wrapping, free coffee or spiced cider?
  • Surprise them – Stage pop-up specials / sales, include small extras shipped with orders or given at checkout?
  • Email a special offer -- give loyal customers a special discount and referral bonus.
Remember that “Holiday” isn’t restricted to events in November and December. If you offer a holiday promotion, keep track of the results. If the results meet your objectives, you can re-use the basic plan and build on it for other occasions throughout the year, whether it’s Valentine’s Day, Halloween or your company’s anniversary.
But whatever you do, don’t forget to say "Thank you" and let your loyal customers know that their business and referrals are appreciated.
